Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 1 - Activity 2

This year Panmure Bridge School is lucky enough to participate in the Summer Learning Journey from 2018-2019. This is an opportunity for the manaiakalani cluster school to join. For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. Above shows the second activity that I completed for the Summer Learning Journey. To complete this activity I was to create a DLO based on my hometown. In my google drawing I included information about a hometown, information about my hometown, and a image with the Auckland Landmarks. The image has a source link on it. There are a lot of reasons to why Auckland is my hometown.

I would pick the black van because it looks big and good for me to drive an easier too.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 4 Week Four

This is what I had to do for this task:

Watch this short clip from Country Calendar. What do you think would be the most interesting and/or challenging things about being a farmer? Would you would like to be a farmer when you are older. Why/why not? Give us, at least, two reasons to support your answer. Here is my answer: It would be interesting to look after animals and get to know their habbits and hobbie too. But the most challenging thing is doing a lot of paper work. My 3 reasons for me not wanting to become a farmer is because 1 I already know what I wanna be when I grow up 2 it's going to be really hard driving everywhere even walking everywhere and 3 feeding lots of animals at the same time. I really love farming but I already have my dream job. My family use to go to the farm and do the onions.

Summer Learning Journey Day 3 Activity 2 Week Four

This is what I had to do for this activity:

Speaking of home, where do you live? On your blog, please post a picture of your hometown and provide a list of three things that tourists, like us, could do if we came to visit. What do you like most about your hometown? (Remember the guidelines for being Cybersmart, and never post your address online).

New Zealand Auckland Panmure.

What I love most about my hometown is that there is lots of shopping centers to shop. Even though Panmure's shopping center looks small it still has big shops inside to see and buy.

1. Tourist would love to taste new traditional food.

2. Tourist would love to experience our Panmure Library and see how they lay their books out different from us.

3. They could take photos and see how their money looks like compared to New Zealand Money.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 2 Week Four

In 2015, a kiwi golfer named Lydia Ko became the youngest woman in the world to reach the #1 ranking.  She was only 17 years old. Many people from here in New Zealand and overseas really admire her and think of her as a modern-day sporting hero. Who is your sporting hero? They can be a famous athlete, or even a member of your family or community. It’s completely up to you.

This is what I had to do: On your blog tell us about your sporting hero. Who are they? Why are they a hero? Include a photo of them in your blog post. Here is my answer:

My sporting hero would be Jason Tamulolo. Jason Tamulolo is a formal Sydney Cowboy player who plays Rugby League. He is full Tongan and comes from Vava'u ( Village in Tonga). Jason Tamulolo was only 24 years old. He is my hero because it claims that I am as strong as him and also he represents my country. He is in my favorite rugby team and also me and him has the same skills done like bumping off.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 1 Week Four

Arguably one of the most famous movie trilogies of all time, The Lord of the Rings, was filmed in New Zealand. All three movies were directed by a New Zealander named Peter Jackson. The first movie was released in 2001, the second in 2002 and the third in 2003. The movies cost an estimated $300 million to produce!  Imagine that instead of spending the money on the movies, Peter Jackson decided to give all of this money to you. Lucky you! On your blog, tell us what you would do with $300 million dollars. How would you spend it? It is a lot of money so please think carefully about it and spend it wisely.

Here is my answer: If Peter Jackson gave me all of his money I would buy new furniture and new clothes because if you buy clothes and furniture you can last it forever but the movies last long for 1 day.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Week Three

In the 1990s, four different individuals served as the Prime Minister of New Zealand – Geoffrey Palmer, Mike Moore, Jim Bolger and Jenny Shipley.

For this task I had to write a short profile of one of our former Prime Ministers. Upload a photo of them with your post. And I had to click on this link to find a copy of the template. This will save the blank template to your Google Drive so that you can fill it in. Post the completed template to your blog to earn points for this activity.

Summer Learning Journey Day 3 Activity 2 Week Three

Fashion in the 1970s was quite unique. Take a look at the pictures of a ‘typical’ 1970s outfit and tell us, on your blog, two things that you like about 1970s fashion and two things that you don’t like about the fashion of the day. I am not a huge fan of the patterned pants. What about you?

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 5 Week Two

Today for this activity I had to Compare the pictures of common clothing from the late 1940s to what we wear now (in 2017/2018). Are they similar or are they quite different? On your blog tell us which of the two styles you prefer and why. The pictures above were taken over 65 years ago! What do you think people will be wearing 65 years from now?

They are really different to each other. The kids wear a puffy dress and the boys wear shorts,tie, and jumper but the elders wear something different. I would rather prefer the kids one because it looks better on me.

Summer Learning Journey Day 3 Activity 2 Week Two

1. We could all make Ideas to find out how to make
clothes and food for others and let people agree.
2. Make a box to put $10 in every week and then at the end of the year we can open it
up and see how much we got.
3. Every Christmas we should at least give gifts to the people who need it most.
Today for this activity I had to give 3 tips to find out how to donate food and clothes to those who need it most.

Summer Learning Journey Day 2 Bonus Activity Week Two.

Today for this activity I had to read about landing
safely in Christchurch. I had to imagine that I was
in the flight crew and write a poem about landing safely
in Christchurch after a long trip.Here is my poem I wrote.

As I hopped in the plan I felt so happy
flying up and down can't wait to see daddy.
I heard the overcome saying were nearly there
I was so happy about to fear.
Nearly landing hearing a lot of shouting
outside lot of people crowding.
Hopped out of the plane was happy to be landing.

Summer Learning Journey Day 2 Activity 2 Week Two

Today for this activity I had to look closer at the painting and give it rate stars out of 5 stars. The ratings were- (1 star = terrible painting, 2 stars = pretty bad painting, 3 stars = okay painting, 4 stars = good painting and 5 stars = amazing painting). My answer would be 5 starts amazing painting because I like the features and paint also the face part of everything.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Week Two

Today for this activity I had to read about the suffrage movement in New Zealand. New Zealand was the first country to let women have the rights to vote. There were still countries around the world like Saudi Arabia that were not allowed to vote. I think that Saudi Arabia women should be allowed because since New Zealand women has the rights to vote every countries should stand up for themselves and tell the men why they should have the rights to vote. This is not fair because why does New Zealand get to have the rights to vote not other countries.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Week one

This week for this activity I had to write a letter to a friend imaging I was one of the people leaving my home on a Waka. I had to write a letter about leaving home to a country 1000 miles away. In this letter I had to write how I would feel like and more. If this actually happens I would feel really nervous. 

Dear Friend,

I am one of the people who are leaving my home base, to try out a new country. I dont know what will be happening to me and what I will be doing. I dont know what it's going to be like in a new country. I will be sure to think about you more and more. I've wanted to send this to you because I've already been farewell by my family but you weren't there. I hope to get their safely before a bad weather forecast. At the moment I feel sad to leave. Today for day 5 I did my second activity. For this activity I just used blogger straight away. The task was to find out the cost and requirements I have to meet up to have a go at bungee jumping.I learnt everything by searching it up. 

PBS Learning Journey- Stratosphere- Activity 2

This is my second activity for the PBS blogging. For this activity I had to write down the restriction for the stratosphere ride and also why I think there is a height restriction for this ride. I made this by using google drawings. I decided to use 3 images including some writing underneath.
