Key Competencies - Outside the Box

Since, camp has ended we have been celebrating camp, by completing a number of interesting activities. For one of the activities we were to add information to our outside the box DLO. This DLO included the key competences. Before leaving to camp we worked in groups to find out what we would do before camp had taken place. After camp we added information about how we showed these values at camp. Their were 5 key competences, which were thinking, relating to others, using language, symbols, and text, managing self, and participating and contributing. 

Kiwi Can

Today for Kiwi Can was our third session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige and Mr Matt. Going to Kiwi Can helps us develop our key value skills. Our theme for this term is respect. Respect means treating others the way you want to be treated. Showing respect is one of the values at our school. This means that everyone is to show respect to all teachers. Today at Kiwi Can we talked about rules. At Panmure Bridge School we have rules. One of them is wearing the correct school uniform. Today our group was given a question to answer. The question was if you were to change on of the school rules what would it be. Most people said that we should be able to wear mufti to school. Having rules at our school is great, because it tells other schools that we can follow rules that we are given to follow. 

Teamwork - Values

Today Mrs Anderson started teaching LS2 about the message of values. A value is a key competency that we use in school and out of school. Using these values will help us develop new learning skills. Today I worked on my own to complete this google drawing based on the value teamwork. In this google drawing I contained information about what teamwork is and what you might be doing when you use the value teamwork. I also added 2 images of people showing teamwork. I chose to do this value, because I think that everyone in our classroom need to know how teamwork works when we do variety of different challenges. 

Kiwi Can

Today for Kiwi Can was our second session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige and Mr Matt. The point of going to Kiwi Can is to learn about key values that will help us develop new skills in learning. Our theme for this term is called respect. To me respect means treating your teachers the way you want to be treated. This means that you should show manners to your teachers so that they can show manners back to you. Today in Kiwi Can we played a few activities. I would use respect where ever I go, because it shows that I can treat others the way that I want to be treated. Today in Kiwi Can we talked about how we can respect our teachers and pupils. A way to show respect to your teachers and pupils is to listen and encourage them all the time. Showing respect is a great thing to do, because not only are you showing respect to your teachers and pupils around you, but you show other schools that you can respect your school values that you are given to follow. 

Winter Olympic Comparison

Today for Inquiry Jonathan,Christopher, and myself created a Winter Olympic Comparison. In this Comparison we all worked together to write down some information about the values in Panmrue Bridge School and the Winter Olympics. 

 After doing that we had to look back to both of the circles and see if any of them had similarities. I created this Venn diagram by using google drawings. 

Olympic and PBS Values

Today for Inquiry Jonathan and I learnt about the differences and the similarities between facts about Panmure Bridge School and facts about Olympics. We filled in some boxes with information. For the Panmure Bridge School boxes I wrote in information about their Panmure Bridge School Whakatauki, The Panmure Bridge School Logo, The Panmure Bridge School Motto, and the Panmure Bridge School Values. We did the same with the Winter Olympics.
