HIIT

Today LS2 completed their second HIIT training with Mr Ogilvie. Last year most of the LS2 students got the chance to do a number of HIIT sessions with Mrs Anderson. This helps us improve in all areas of exercise. Each person chose their own partner to work with. There were 3 stations: pull ups, press ups, and mountain climbers. This circuit was all about building our strength. I found it hard to stay on time when doing the pull ups, because I kept on swapping my hand positions. While our partner was doing the exerciser encouraged them to keep on going. At the end of our session we did something similar to the beep test, but instead we squatted along to the song bring sally up/bring sally down. This was a challenge to see who'd be the last person squatting. Thank you to Mr Ogilvie for making this HIIT session happen.

HIIT

Today was our sixth session of HIIT. HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. HIIT is when we do training workouts for 10 - 20 minutes. Today at HIIT we did 4 sets of split squat pulse, split squat jump, split squat, and star jumps. Everyone got there own polar heart rates and straps to use when doing our exercises. Our heart rates are for our teachers to see how good we've been doing throughout our HIIT sessions. Today my heart rate kept on going up to red which was really good. I use to be on orange but then I never gave up and I kept on going until I saw my number hit the colour red.
