Explanation: " Show respect, get respect "

" Show respect, get respect "

Respect, empathy, kindness, attitude and tolerance? Hmmmm, what are these words? What do they mean? These words are called Qualities. Qualities are features that someone / something has. It may sound strange, but they do have a special meaning behind it. Have a think. Have you ever used one of them? if so when and why? Although, our school is a digital learning environment we have 4 values that we follow. Confidence, attitude, respect and excellence and innovation.

Respect? What does respect mean to you? Respect means caring for someone the way that you would. Showing respect is an important quality, because it can be given and received easily. There has always been that time, where you may not like someone, which I understand, but showing respect is required, because having it in yourself shows others that you are able to care for a person's needs/feelings.

Do you have a best friend? I have a best friend that I care for, especially, because in return I know that she cares for me too. " Show respect, get respect " is a phrase that I get given all the time. Why, because it is a really true statement. If respect is shown, it will be given back. In many cultures, individuals are required to be worthy for each other.

Respect is shown in many different languages / ways. For instance, it is disrespectful for Tongans to play, dance and work on a Sunday, because we believe that it is important to we keep the Sabbath day holy.In all Tongan schools girls are required to have their hairs platted in two's with a coloured ribbon. In Tongan culture, it is disrespectful for girls to wear shorts during prayers, because their showing too much of their body, but in return it is disrespectful for boys to spread their legs around during prayers.

Respect, empathy, kindness, attitude and tolerance? Hmmmm, what are these words? What do they mean? These words are called Qualities. Qualities are features that someone / something has. It may sound strange, but they do have a special meaning behind it. Now, think. Have you ever used one of them? if so when and why? Remember this: " Show respect, get respect "

Today for Kiwi Can was our third session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige and Mr Matt. Going to Kiwi Can helps us develop our key value skills. Our theme for this term is respect. Respect means treating others the way you want to be treated. Showing respect is one of the values at our school. This means that everyone is to show respect to all teachers. Today at Kiwi Can we talked about rules. At Panmure Bridge School we have rules. One of them is wearing the correct school uniform. Today our group was given a question to answer. The question was if you were to change on of the school rules what would it be. Most people said that we should be able to wear mufti to school. Having rules at our school is great, because it tells other schools that we can follow rules that we are given to follow.

Today for Kiwi Can was our second session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige and Mr Matt. The point of going to Kiwi Can is to learn about key values that will help us develop new skills in learning. Our theme for this term is called respect. To me respect means treating your teachers the way you want to be treated. This means that you should show manners to your teachers so that they can show manners back to you. Today in Kiwi Can we played a few activities. I would use respect where ever I go, because it shows that I can treat others the way that I want to be treated. Today in Kiwi Can we talked about how we can respect our teachers and pupils. A way to show respect to your teachers and pupils is to listen and encourage them all the time. Showing respect is a great thing to do, because not only are you showing respect to your teachers and pupils around you, but you show other schools that you can respect your school values that you are given to follow.

Today for Kiwi Can was our first session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige, Mr Latu, and Mr Matt. The point of going to Kiwi Can is to learn about key values that will help us develop new skills in learning. Not only do we show these key values at school, but we show it everywhere we go. Our new theme for this term is called respect. Respect means showing appreciation to both your teachers and leaders. This means that we need to treat our teachers and leaders the way we want to be treated. I will use respect whenever someone's talking to me. I will also use it wherever I go. For one of our activities we played a debate. A debate is when a group of people argues over a topical issue. The debates that we were given to argue over were about having school rules or no school rules, and being able to bring fizzy drinks to school or not being able to bring fizzy drinks to school. The point of this game was to stand up for our own rights and speak up. I think that we should have school rules at school, because it shows other schools that we can follow the rules that we are given to follow.

Kiwi Can

This week for kiwi can our theme was all about positive communication respect. The first thing we did was a energiser game. This game was called knights, gentleman, and horses. Ms Latoya had to say any on these options and we had to do the correct action with a partner. The last pairs to do it gets out or dosent have a partner. After that Ms Latoya added octopus in it. When she says octopus
1 person had to stand in the middle while eight has to stand outside. The next thing we did was val cones and valleys. In this game 2 teams were competing each other. There were cones spread everywhere. One team had to flip it over while the other team had to put it back. We only had 2/1 minutes to do it. At the end we did GKQ- General Knowledge Questions.
