Summer Learning Journey - Activity 2 - Day 4 - Week 3

This year Panmure Bridge School is lucky enough to participate in the Summer Learning Journey from 2018-2019. This is an opportunity for the Manaiakalani cluster school to join. For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on Matariki. First I was to listen to the story about Matariki that was read by a lady. Then we were to write about it.

This story is about the 7 stars. There were 7 sisters included in this story. In the begging the brothers went on their boat and sailed along as they arrived near a hill to beautiful ladies with great sinning and hair. Mitai's brothers fell in loves with the 7 sisters. They then took the wives back to their place. The mens would always cook food for their wives, but not them. By that time they got skinnier and skinnier. The sisters never wanted to go out. They just sung and sung every second. Meanwhile when the men had come back they noticed that their wives had gone missing. Mitai decided to go and sneak behind the whare when he saw the 7 wives gathering together and talking. Mitai had heard that they had a terrible plan that was coming their way, so he returned back and told his brothers. By then the brothers all got prepared with nets in their hands. The wives were all birds as the brothers catched each of them in the net. Afterwards Mitai turned into a albatross and took them to the God of Stars ( Uru-te-ngangara). She then flew them to somewhere away from the earth. Every time their shine like bright stars.

I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on animals. First I was to go on this website and look for an animal. After looking for an animal I was to create a DLO based on that animal. It was required to include facts, images, and information about this animal. The images were attributed too. Above shows my creative DLO that I created. Have yo seen a Flying Fish?

For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on having a superpower. For this task we were to list down what superpower we would pick and why. 

I would choose to be able to fly, so that I don't need to waste money to pay for to fly to Tonga whenever it is needed for me and my family. I think that my Family would like to have this superpower too. 

Summer Learning Journey - Activity 1 - Day 3 - Week 3

For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on different types of birds. For this task I was to pick a bird from a site and then give information about it. I have chosen to talk about the Black Robin. The site was very helpful, because it included the sound of the bird and information about it too. 

Black Robins like to live in trees and low branches. They live in woody places under the trees of the Akeake trees. Black Robins love looking for grubs, cockroaches, weta, and worms. They have really good vision during day and night. 

Summer Learning Journey - Activity 3 - Day 2 - Week 3

This year Panmure Bridge School is lucky enough to participate in the Summer Learning Journey from 2018-2019. This is an opportunity for the Manaiakalani cluster school to join. For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on a special draining sink. For this task I was to solve out a maths problem. The maths problem was this. 

Let’s imagine that we tested the air in your classroom and found 7 different kinds of mould. Eek! The cleaner says that it takes 5 days for each mould to be eradicated (removed). If the school had to remove each mould one at a time, how long would it take to remove all the mould from the classroom?

My answer is 35, because I went 7 x 5 = 35. This answer came to my mind when I first saw it, because I knew that I should of times 7 and 5 together, which made 35.

For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges and the week 2 challenges. I am apparently on week 3 now. The week 3 challenges is based called Up, Up and Away. This task was based on a special draining sink. For this task I was to list down some things that I will put into my special sink. Below shows the things that I will put in my special sink. 

I would put pasta, olives, capsicum, lettuce, cooked fish, chicken, mushroom, muscles, and beetroot.
