Today for Graphics we used Tinkercad to create our own characters. We were to choose one of the teachers or students in our class to create. I decided to create Ms Ferguson ( Tech teacher). Today I only had time to draw Ms Ferguson's legs, shoes, pants, head, and her shirt. To create these characters we were to use workplace, holes, and grouping.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Today some of the yr 4's-8's teams went down to Auckland Netball Centre. It was a netball interschool where students from other schools come together and play with different schools. Everyone was hoping for q great weather, but suddenly it kept on raining. Even though the weather forecast wasn't great everyone managed to play. There were to year 7 and 8 teams and I was in one of them. I was in the Panmure Bridge School purple team. We had 7 games in total. We played against Tamaki Primary twice, Glenbrae, Sylvia Park, Rupotaka, and Panmrue Bridge Green. We had a draw, win, and the rest were loses. In my team I had Avalon, Fui, Tiava, Mataio, Kanye, and San Kyaw. Thank you to Ms McLean, Mr Shaun, Mr Ogilvie, and Maxine for coming out and supervising our netball teams.

Current Events National Events
This week for reading we have been working on Current Events. A current event is a type of task where you read an article and you start answering the 5 w's, 1 h. We were to go on either of the sites which were Kiwi Kid News, RNZ News, and NZ Herald. I decided to use Kiwi Kid News to create a current event based on Auckland counts homeless for the first time. We were to create 2 current events based on a National event that happened in Auckland and a international event that happened around the world. My other current event was based on Koala's maybe extinct by 2050. This current event was based on international news.

Design Models
Today for Tech we created design models by using Plasticine. Today we were to create 3 different design models. We were to create design models to support our phones. Today I created a Micky Mouse bow, a sad face, and a speaker. My favourite design that I created today was the Micky Mouse bow. This design holds my phone by making sure that my phone won't fall forwards. I think that I should improve myself, by measuring it precisely, so that all of my sides can be the same size.

Bridge Testing
This term for inquiry we have been learning about structures. Throughout the previous weeks we have been completing different types of tasks based on tunnels, towers, and bridges. Last week Sky, Magenta, Marieta, and I created a suspension bridge using spaghetti, strings, and tape. Before creating our bridges we were to plan our ideas on a piece of paper and then get it checked by Ms Kirkpatrick. We measured it in millimetres. After that we were to grab the equipment that we needed. My group started off by making the components. Today everyone's group was to test their bridges by using a pile of bricks. Our bridge looked great, but unfortunately it fell down just from 1 brick. Next time we need to make the sides a little bit more stable. The precise span of it was 28 cm. The results of our bridge didn't go well, but we were happy that we made a bridge out of spaghetti.

Subtraction - Basic Facts
This week for maths we completed a maths challenge that was set by Mr Wong. First he shared it to us and we started completing it. Last week we completed the addition up to 100, but this week we completed the subtraction up to 100. I managed to get everything correct. There was some times when I got it incorrect, but I still managed to use a strategy that helped me a lot.

Explanation - Why Do People Build Bridges?
This term we have been writing different types of explanations based on different topic. Throughout the 2 previous weeks we have been writing a explanation about why people build bridges. In a explanation we need a introduction, 3 paragraphs, and a conclusion. In my explanation I included information about transportation, how we use bridges today, and drowning. I've also used one of the interesting hooks in my introduction. The hook that I've decided to use it the list. It was easy to copy and paste our introduction into our conclusion, but change some information.

Duffy Assembly
Today Panmure Bridge School had a Duffy Assembly. It was amazing to have Michel Mulipola at our school to present information about his comic books. Michel Mulipola is a author who writes and illustrates comic books. One of the books that he created was called Frog, which is a school journal book. All of the learning that he presented to us was amazing, but not only was he a author of comic books, but he was a Semi -professional gamer, and a Wrestler. This meant that, since he was a Semi - professional gamer he was lucky enough to play video games and get payed at the same time. All of the illustrations that he showed me was amazing. His favourite cartoon character is Green Lantern. He also made a book called Headlocked and Breathless. He also showed us images of him and some famous WWE fighters. The image that hooked me in was the one of the different types of spider mans.

Book Review Activity
For the pass few weeks Mrs Anderson reading groups has been working on book review activities. This meant that we were to read a chapter book and create a review on it. The reviews that we were to create based on our chapter books were the theme, author, setting, character, and overall review. I decided to read a book called Auggie and Me. For the pass few weeks I worked on my own to complete these review activities based on the chapter book that I was reading. To make it look better I decided to add graphics in it. I also included information about my book. Today we were to present our reading DLO's to our read group. Everybody showed respected and presented with confidence. I would recommend this book to people who has already read wonder, because they will have more experience about what this book is going to be about. I would also like to recommend this book to people who love reading books with a lot of drama in it, because in all of the three wonder stories that I've read there is arguing and complaining going on between different people.

HIIT
Today for HIIT was our last session of this term. We did HIIT twice a week this term. We did HIIT for 15 weeks too. My fitness changed by keeping in time with the leaders at the front. Last term I wasn't keeping up with the leaders, but this term I tried my best to keep up with the leaders at the front. It was great to see everyone getting pau te hau throughout all of our HIIT sessions. The exercises that we did today were tap steps, push ups, start jumps, and sit ups. My favourite exercise was the sit ups, because I liked it how me and Chavda were connecting our legs together and high fiving each other. A huge thank you to the leaders who were leading the exercises throughout all the HIIT sessions.

Auckland Philharmonia Ochestra
Today most of the LS2 students were selected to go to the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and watched 3 pieces of music and performances. There was 1 dance that was performed by some St Kent's and Ngatapawae school students. There was also an item that was performed by a Opera Singer. He sang about the Bull Fight. The Auckland Town Hall was a big building that was formed with different sections in different areas. There was also 4 types of instrument groups that they used in the Orchestra performance. They were the brass, woodwind, string, and the percussion. As Part of the brass they used the french horn, trombone, trumpet, and the tuba. As Part of the woodwind they used, the flute, clarinet, bassoon, and the oboe. As part of the string they used the harp, violin, viola, cello, and the double bass. The last one was percussion. As part as the percussion they used drums symbols and triangles. A huge thank you to Emmy ( Alex's Mum) for taking her time to supervising us during this trip.

Virtual Reality Study
Today most of the LS2 students were lucky enough to experience and learn new things about virtual reality. Thank you to Yvonne and her research team for taking their time to teach us new things about virtual reality. Yvonne and her team come from The Augmented human lab at Auckland University. There were 2 devices that we used. They were called the VR cardboard and the Magic Window. The Magic Window talked about early mail service from Pakuranga to Panmure. In this VR study we completed different types of tests on different sheets. Some of us were given watch monitors to see how our heart rates worked by using VR. Before doing Magic Window on the iPads we filled in sheets using our prior knowledge, which meant what we already know. After using Magic Window we filled in the same sheets, but add in what we learnt from the iPad. I just want to say a huge thank you to Yvonne and her research team for organising this entire program for us to learn and experience. Yvonne and her research team made it even more better by providing a lot of pizza.

Colons Illustration
This week for writing we have been learning about sensory verbs. Today we also learnt how to use colons and semi colons correctly. We worked on a google document that was filled with different types of sentences. We were to add colons in the correct places of the sentences. After Ms Kirkpatrick checked our colon sheet we were to illustrate one of the sentences. We also included the reason why the colon was placed in that place. I illustrated the last sentence.

Sensory Verbs
This week for writing we have been learning about sensory verbs. Sensory verbs are the 5 sense that we smell, taste, look, feel, and hear. For this activity we were to fill in a completed quiz. First we were to fill it in and then click check answers. At the end my results were all correct. In writing we are learning to understand sensory verbs and their use to be able to use colons and semi-colons.

Book Review - Auggie and Me
Pass the previous weeks Mrs Anderson's reading group has been doing book reviews on their books. A book review is when you read a book and you do a task from each of the followings: a character, author, setting, theme, and overall review. At the moment I've already finished my author review, which meant today I moved on to complete my character review. At the moment I'm only read 50 pages. There are three wonder stories in this book. I am still reading the Julian Chapter. The Julian Chapter is about a boy who complains about how Auggie ruined his life ever since he started school. In page 50 they are trying to solve this problem by bringing Julian's parents into this conversation. I predict that Julian's parents will complain to the school principal about how Auggie ruins his son's life.
