Rhythm Interactive's visit to PBS

Image result for djembe

This morning LS2 received a special visit from Johnny, who is a member of the Rhythm Interactive. Each student was lucky enough to use a drum each. The message today was '' Together we can make a change". These drums are African drums. It's name has a very interesting sound to it called Djemebe's. As he was drumming, everyone spoke and copied what he did -  '' If you can say you can drum it''. I enjoyed participating in this drumming session, because I got the opportunity to be taught a variety of different beats that you can do using a Djembe. Today I found out that Djembe in English means '' brings joy''.  A big thank you to Johnny for taking his time up to teach us a heap of different skills, as we all enjoyed the visit.

Hiwi the Kiwi

This week LS2 received a special visit from Hiwi the Kiwi. Hiwi the Kiwi came and taught us the different rules about going to fishing. One of them was to teach our dad/grandfather/uncle to wear a life jacket, before going onto the boat. We sang songs, did actions, and answered different questions. Some students got prizes for answering the questions too, which was
( a poster, sticker, and a magazine). There were many messages/quotes in each song. One of them was to '' save the fish, for the future ''. At the end of the visit Hiwi the Kiwi gave each and everyone one of us a challenge to do. The challenge was to write a story with 2 important messages in it. The winner was lucky enough to win a new fishing rod. I really found this funny and interesting, because of the jokes he gave. A huge thank you to Mr/Mrs Minstrel for the amazing teaching.
