This week for writing we were to write a narrative about a image. This meant that to complete this task we were to choose one of the images from pobble and write a narrative about it. I decided to write a narrative about wonder. In this narrative my story was similar to how Teresa was experiencing the same thing as August was.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Teamwork - Values
Today Mrs Anderson started teaching LS2 about the message of values. A value is a key competency that we use in school and out of school. Using these values will help us develop new learning skills. Today I worked on my own to complete this google drawing based on the value teamwork. In this google drawing I contained information about what teamwork is and what you might be doing when you use the value teamwork. I also added 2 images of people showing teamwork. I chose to do this value, because I think that everyone in our classroom need to know how teamwork works when we do variety of different challenges.

Tinkercad Phone Stand Design
Today was our second session of term 4 at Tech at Tamaki College. Today our tech teacher was Ms Ferguson. Today at tech we were to carry on with what we did last week. Today I carried on with my phone stand design by using tinkercad. Last week I only had the character and the phone stand, but this week I changed it up a bit. I decided to make the character stand by making the phone stand when it leans. This will help the phone, because the leg protects the phone from falling. Above shows the different angles that I took of my phone stand design.

Kiwi Can
Today for Kiwi Can was our second session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige and Mr Matt. The point of going to Kiwi Can is to learn about key values that will help us develop new skills in learning. Our theme for this term is called respect. To me respect means treating your teachers the way you want to be treated. This means that you should show manners to your teachers so that they can show manners back to you. Today in Kiwi Can we played a few activities. I would use respect where ever I go, because it shows that I can treat others the way that I want to be treated. Today in Kiwi Can we talked about how we can respect our teachers and pupils. A way to show respect to your teachers and pupils is to listen and encourage them all the time. Showing respect is a great thing to do, because not only are you showing respect to your teachers and pupils around you, but you show other schools that you can respect your school values that you are given to follow.
Kiwisport
Today for kiwisport was our first session of boxing. Our instructor today was Pax. To start off with our session we played a warm up game. In this warm up we were to try and touch our partners shoulder or knee. If they got touched they were to do 1 burpie. After that we started wearing our gloves and we got into the position of our boxing stance. The position that we stood in was called a rock. In this position we were to put one feet backwards and the other one at the front. After doing this we bent our knees. Then we placed our hands underneath our jaw. Next we started practising how to jab and cross. A jab is when you box at someone roughly or quickly. A cross is when you jab the opposite sides. Today's session was really enjoying, because not only did we have fun in everything we did, but we got to learn some great self defence skills.

The Highwayman Summary
This week for reading we have been focusing on a ballad poem based on a story about the highwayman. A ballad poem is a long poem that tells a story. The first thing that we were to do was to read the poem with a partner. While reading this poem we were to understand what the poem was about. To finish this task we were to write a summary about the highwayman poem. A highwayman is someone who rides a horse and someone who steals. This poem was written by Alfred Noyes. For this task myself and Sky worked together. After reading and talking about this poem we watched a video that gave us visual pictures about the poem. Since there were a lot of activities to do about this poem I also completed a simile and metaphor activity. For this task we were to see if the sentences was a simile or a metaphor.

Basic Facts Boxes
This week for maths we were to complete one of the revision challenges that were set by Mrs Anderson. I decided to complete Mr Wong's maths challenge that he created. Today I completed the basic facts box. I answered all the questions to the addition box 1. This was another addition box that I was given to complete. Doing this helped me develop my maths skills, because throughout this activity I was able to answer these questions quickly.

Niue Language Week
This week is Niue language week. This meant that at our school we were to speak Niue in assembly. Today we were to create google slides based on information about Niue. Today myself and Marieta created a google presentation based on information and facts about Niue. In our google slides we contained information about the Niue colours, animals, fruit, phrases, numbers, and their national anthem. At the end of our google slides we decided to create a screencastify to show you how to pronounce each word.
Basic Facts Boxes
This week for maths we completed a maths challenge that was set by Mr Wong. Last week we completed the addition up to 100, but this week I completed the subtraction up to 100. I managed to get everything correct.
Kiwi Can
Today for Kiwi Can was our first session of Term 4. Our teachers were Ms Paige, Mr Latu, and Mr Matt. The point of going to Kiwi Can is to learn about key values that will help us develop new skills in learning. Not only do we show these key values at school, but we show it everywhere we go. Our new theme for this term is called respect. Respect means showing appreciation to both your teachers and leaders. This means that we need to treat our teachers and leaders the way we want to be treated. I will use respect whenever someone's talking to me. I will also use it wherever I go. For one of our activities we played a debate. A debate is when a group of people argues over a topical issue. The debates that we were given to argue over were about having school rules or no school rules, and being able to bring fizzy drinks to school or not being able to bring fizzy drinks to school. The point of this game was to stand up for our own rights and speak up. I think that we should have school rules at school, because it shows other schools that we can follow the rules that we are given to follow.
Tinkercad Design
Today for tech was our first session of term 4. Today our tech teacher was Ms Ferguson. Before going on Tinkercad we were to plan our design on a piece of paper. The designs that we chose were either from thingiverse or drive. At the moment I am not finished, but I have imported my character so far. On tinkercad we also used different types of shapes, files, and holes.

That was Winter Illustration
This week for writing we have been learning about language devices in poetic writing. Before drawing our illustration we were to read a poem about summer and highlight the interesting vocabulary and the verbs. After doing that we were to create a poem about winter or spring. My poem was based on winter. Everybody's poem was to include the 5 senses. At the end of this we were to illustrate one of our stanzas. I decided to illustrate my last stanza. It was did you remember that time when the wind blew past your face and you made a cringey look.
New Zealand Shakeout
Today myself, Marieta, and Chavda collaborated together to find out information about the New Zealand Shakeout day. We worked together and we were able to find facts about the New Zealand Earthquake, information about the NZ National Shakeout Day, facts about the Hawkes Bay earthquake, the 5 w's and 1 h, information about the shakeout day, and a image of how to prepare when a earthquake happens. Today our school participated in the Shakeout day drill. This was a great thing, because not only did we learn how to drop, cover, and hold, but we were able to know when to get prepared. Remember to always be prepared when an earthquake happens. Always remember Drop, Cover, and Hold.
