Today for this task I had to:Write a description of what New Zealand will be like at that time (80 – 90 years from now). What kind of houses will people live in? What will they eat? Where will they work? Our roads will turn into dust. People will live in their normal houses but 3 story houses. Their food will be served by specials drones that can lift any type of foods. There will be no more plastic things. Our trees will be more bigger as if it's about to touch the tree. We will have different colored traffic lights. People would live in a country they never knew about. People will start working at night and then finish in the morning. Cafe's will no longer exist.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Summer Learning Journey Day 5 Activity 1 Week Four
For this task I had to:
Take a minute to think about my future. What would you I like to do when I finish school? Would I like to work in a specific job? Would I like to study at university? What would I study? Maybe I'd even like to move overseas. Share your thoughts and ideas on your blog site. There are no wrong answers! Here is my answer:
I would like to work for Pakn'save as a start off job and then after about 1 year I would want to go to university. I would really want to study being a midwife.I would want to study a Midwife because my mum is a midwife and she is really influencing me to be one.

Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 4 Week Four
This is what I had to do for this task:
Watch this short clip from Country Calendar. What do you think would be the most interesting and/or challenging things about being a farmer? Would you would like to be a farmer when you are older. Why/why not? Give us, at least, two reasons to support your answer. Here is my answer: It would be interesting to look after animals and get to know their habbits and hobbie too. But the most challenging thing is doing a lot of paper work. My 3 reasons for me not wanting to become a farmer is because 1 I already know what I wanna be when I grow up 2 it's going to be really hard driving everywhere even walking everywhere and 3 feeding lots of animals at the same time. I really love farming but I already have my dream job. My family use to go to the farm and do the onions.

For this task I had to:
Watch the trailer for Moana and then write a summary of the movie on your blog. If you’ve seen the movie, you can include your favourite part! Tell us as much as you can about the movie. What is it about? Who are the main characters in the movie? What do they do in the movie? Where do they go? Here is my answer:

This is what I did for today:
Imagine that you are a teacher, and design your own classroom. What would it look like? What furniture would you have? I would love to have some beanbags for reading on.Draw a floorplan of your classroom (either in Google Draw or on paper) and upload it to your blog. Describe what is special about your classroom and why you designed it this way.
Summer Learning Journey Day 3 Activity 2 Week Four
This is what I had to do for this activity:
Speaking of home, where do you live? On your blog, please post a picture of your hometown and provide a list of three things that tourists, like us, could do if we came to visit. What do you like most about your hometown? (Remember the guidelines for being Cybersmart, and never post your address online).
New Zealand Auckland Panmure.
What I love most about my hometown is that there is lots of shopping centers to shop. Even though Panmure's shopping center looks small it still has big shops inside to see and buy.
1. Tourist would love to taste new traditional food.
2. Tourist would love to experience our Panmure Library and see how they lay their books out different from us.
3. They could take photos and see how their money looks like compared to New Zealand Money.
Summer Learning Journey Day 3 Activity 1 Week Four
This is what I had to do for my activity:
Imagine that you had to form a coalition government with two other people. Who would you choose to partner with? Here is my answer:
I would form a coalition with my mom Elani and dad Fenau. Elani would be a good partner because she always has that confident to speak to others and she always gets along with others. She is sweet and nice and does thing for me. She is also smart and makes good decisions when she is able to do things. Fenau would be great because he is really strong and he can think of things to do really fast. Whenever it's time to clean our rooms he says that he wants to do it by himself just to see what improvement he has done in cleaning. When I go back inside my room after 5 minutes I see the bed changed and im like how can he lift these beds all by himself.
This is Rachel's Example:
I would form a coalition with my son, Aronui, and with my friend, Amber. Aronui would be a great addition to the coalition because he is funny and kind. He would make us laugh and take care of us. Amber would be great because she is really smart and thoughtful. She is also good at making decisions. I think that we would form a great team. What about you? Who would you choose? Why?

In 2015, a kiwi golfer named Lydia Ko became the youngest woman in the world to reach the #1 ranking. She was only 17 years old. Many people from here in New Zealand and overseas really admire her and think of her as a modern-day sporting hero. Who is your sporting hero? They can be a famous athlete, or even a member of your family or community. It’s completely up to you.
This is what I had to do: On your blog tell us about your sporting hero. Who are they? Why are they a hero? Include a photo of them in your blog post. Here is my answer:
My sporting hero would be Jason Tamulolo. Jason Tamulolo is a formal Sydney Cowboy player who plays Rugby League. He is full Tongan and comes from Vava'u ( Village in Tonga). Jason Tamulolo was only 24 years old. He is my hero because it claims that I am as strong as him and also he represents my country. He is in my favorite rugby team and also me and him has the same skills done like bumping off.

Activity 1: Chasing Great
Over the past 17 years New Zealand has experienced a number of sporting highlights, perhaps none larger than the back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories in 2011 and 2015. In both competitions our national rugby team, the All Blacks, was captained by a man named Richie McCaw. He is arguably one of the best rugby players of all time. A movie called Chasing Great was recently created to document his incredible rugby career. Please watch the trailer for Chasing Great and read about Richie McCaw online. On your blog tell us three things that you learned about Richie that you did not know beforehand. What else would you like to know about Richie? Here is my answer:
1. When Richie Mcaw was little he would always watch rugby from the TV he wouldn't get his eyes off the tv.
2. I didn't know that he was chasing his dream to be an All Black.
3. I never knew because other said that he was the greatest of all times.

Although most of you are quite familiar with the idea of taking a ‘selfie’ (picture of ourselves), this was not always the case. In fact, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that people started talking about the idea of a selfie, taking selfies and posting them online. In honour of the rise in popularity of the ‘selfie,’ take a selfie and post it on your blog. Try to show us at least one of your hobbies or one your favourite things (maybe a special toy or book). For example, here is a selfie of Hazel drinking a big mug of tea, and Rachel with her son, Aronui, attending a Paw Patrol show!
Here is my answer:
I really love playing with slime because I really love it when it stretches out even the poking noises.
Summer Learning Journey Activity 2 Day 1 Week Four
Arguably one of the most famous movie trilogies of all time, The Lord of the Rings, was filmed in New Zealand. All three movies were directed by a New Zealander named Peter Jackson. The first movie was released in 2001, the second in 2002 and the third in 2003. The movies cost an estimated $300 million to produce! Imagine that instead of spending the money on the movies, Peter Jackson decided to give all of this money to you. Lucky you! On your blog, tell us what you would do with $300 million dollars. How would you spend it? It is a lot of money so please think carefully about it and spend it wisely.
Here is my answer: If Peter Jackson gave me all of his money I would buy new furniture and new clothes because if you buy clothes and furniture you can last it forever but the movies last long for 1 day.
Summer Learning Journey Activity 1 Day 1 Week 4
In 2000, the country of New Zealand celebrated when Russell Coutts and his sailing team won their second straight America’s Cup. This was the first time that a team from New Zealand had won back-to-back championships! Many people celebrated the victory with their friends and family.

Summer Learning Journey Bonus Activity Week Three
In 1990, for the first time in New Zealand’s history, universities and polytechnics started charging students money to go to school. Prior to then, it had been free to go to university or to a polytechnic. Since 1990, students have had to pay thousands of dollars to attend post-secondary (after high school) education. The new Labour government have promised to give up to three years of free post-secondary education to all New Zealanders by 2020!
On your blog, tell us what you think. Should students have to pay money (tuition fees) to go to university? Why or why not? Here is my answer:
I would say no because some parents cannot afford more than 1,000 dollars just to pay for their kids fees. Even if their was a family that had 3 kids that entered university. That would be really expensive. Where would the parents get the money from? I say we should at not pay for ourselves to go to university.

In the 1990s, four different individuals served as the Prime Minister of New Zealand – Geoffrey Palmer, Mike Moore, Jim Bolger and Jenny Shipley.
For this task I had to write a short profile of one of our former Prime Ministers. Upload a photo of them with your post. And I had to click on this link to find a copy of the template. This will save the blank template to your Google Drive so that you can fill it in. Post the completed template to your blog to earn points for this activity.

In 1990, one of the largest national parks in New Zealand, Tongariro, was listed as a World Heritage Site. It is a truly spectacular place to visit! Thousands of people go to Tongariro every year and hike the Tongariro Crossing. Visit the Tongariro website to learn more about the one-day hike. For this task I had to tell people what I would need to pack if I was going to hike the Tongariro Crossing. What should you bring with you? Write a list of at least 5 items. Here is my answer:
1. Hiking Shoes

In 1982, Te Karere, a Māori-language news show premiered on television. It has continued to stream live on TV to this day. If you would like to watch it, turn on TV One at 3:55 p.m. each weekday and you will see it. The show is often hosted by a man named Scotty Morrison. Imagine that you were Scotty Morrison and you were able to interview anyone you wanted. I would choose to interview our new prime minister, Jacinda Ardern. I’d love to know what it is like to be the Prime Minister. What about you? Who would you choose to interview and why? What would you like to find out?
Here is my answer: I would love to interview Jason Tamulolo because he is my favorite rugby start. He plays for Sydney Cowboys but for the RLWC he plays for Mate Ma'aa Tonga/Kiwis. I would like to tell Jason Tamulolo What was the toughest team he has faced in each team Cowboys,Mate Maa Tonga, and Kiwi's. I would also like to say if you had a contract to move to any team which team would it be. My last question to him would be where do you learn your super skills from even the bumping one.

2. I would really wanna visit the NRL Rugby stars because all of the teams are from Australia except for the Warriors.
3. I would wanna experience the food they eat compare to New Zealand even their big opera house.

One of the most famous children’s stories to ever come out of New Zealand, Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy, was written by a kiwi woman named Lynley Dodd. The book was originally published in 1983. It is now sold in dozens of countries around the world. It features a small dog named Hairy.
On your blog, use the following sentence starter from the original book to finish the story.
To earn full points, your story should have, at least, 8-10 sentences.
“Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy… and and Hercules Morse as big as a horse, with Hairy Maclary from Donald's Dairy. For much of the past century, schools in New Zealand taught students in only one language – English. In 1972, Ngā Tamatoa member, Mrs. Hana Jackson, submitted a petition to Parliament to ask the government to include the teaching of Te Reo Māori (the Māori language) and Māori culture in New Zealand schools. We still use petitions to this day when we want an organisation (e.g. a school) to make a change.
Think about your school. What is one thing that you would like change. Would you like to learn about different things? Maybe you think school should only be open 3 days a week?
On your blog, write a letter to your principal to try and convince him/her to make the change. Ensure that your letter is polite and respectful.
Dear Mr Johnson I have been having 5 days of school every week. I think I should have 4 because it would get some time to rest more for our brains before getting back to learning. Even it could be a special time to fare well family . On Friday can still be school time but a fun time like getting together and getting to spend your favorite thing with your best friends. I say this because when kids at Panmure bridge school yr4-8 have a break they still need to do more work e.g summer learning journey which gives them the option to finish everything so that when they get back to school there results retrieve higher.

In the 1970s one of the most common television programmes was called ‘Ready to Roll.’ It was broadcast on Saturday afternoons and hosted by a man named Roger Gascoigne. During the show, Roger would introduce music videos and then play them for the TV audience. He also invited famous people to come onto the show and perform songs that were currently popular.
For this task I had to
Watch the following three clips that were shown on the Ready to Roll programme:
After that I had to rank the clips in order from your most favourite (#1) to your least favourite (#3). Post your rankings on your blog.

This week for this activity I had to create a post card for a book cover. I did this because In the 1950s, most people communicated with one another by writing letters. According to the NZ history website, New Zealanders sent over 200 million letters and postcards between 1950 and 1960. That is an average of 87 letters per person!
Describing:
Green Trees
Brown Kiwi
Blue Clouds
White River

During the 1950s the population of New Zealand grew by 400,000 people. That is huge! In fact, so many people were having babies that many people refer to this period in our history as the ‘baby boom.’ Popular baby names in 1950s New Zealand were:
GIRLS BOYS
Christine John
Susan David
Margaret Peter
Judith Michael
Jennifer Robert
I had to
Read through the lists. Are these popular names in your school? On your blog, tell us which names are currently popular in your school. Please provide, at least, three girls’ names and three boys’ names that are popular.
When I was going to school, the name Peter,David, and Michael was the most boys popular boys name.
