Winter Learning Journey-Swimming with the sharks-12
For this activity I had to read about a place called Farewell Spit. It has been in the news based on some whales accidentally swam into the spit and got stuck on the beach. They didn't have enough time to sim out because the water was very shallow. The local people tried to save them but unfortunatelysadly many of them died.As you can see the local people did this to save them:
Put wet towels/clothes on them
Pour buckets of water on them
The local people added bowls, water bottles, chilly bins, pots with water and poured them over the dead whales.
Hi Mele It's really sad how the whales died. Do you think that the whales trusted the locals when the locals tried to keep them alive? Great job on explaining what they did
Hello Mele It was very nice of the local people to try and help the whales. I wish all of the whales could have been saved. Keep up the amazing work. Daniel

Hi Mele. It's sad to hear whales dying from this. Hopefully what locals are doing is enough to save them. Keep on working hard.
