Today I did reading on a website called Raz Kids. It was a helpful website for me to read a lot of different books. I learnt that art is all around us but is made in different ways. Many types of artists make different art. I learnt this by reading a book from the reading room called art all around us. It first came up in the introduction when I read it. I really enjoy this book and hope all of yous start reading it when you have time.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

I learnt that there is another part of a verb. Such a The subject, verb, and the object. A subject is the person, A verb is a action word like someone doing something, and the object means something.
I learnt this by reading a very helpful question called who did the action which is the subject. It really helped myself to work more faster by looking at the question a few times.

Japan Sumo Wrestling
Learning Intention: To write a complete blog post using a fact about Japan
I learnt that back in the days Japan Sumo wrestlers were skinny. They were skinny back until the 1914 . The Sumo wrestlers were muscular in the early 20 century. As you know they are starting to get fatter in these days.
I found out these facts on a online website that had a lot of interesting information about Sumo wrestling in Japan. It had a photo of a few of skinny people and a fat people just like that person in the front of the first row.
Sumo is for Japan people who are heavyweight. Sumo game is played in a big circle. You have to stand inside it. There can only be two heavyweights versing each other. The two sumo have to try and get each other out of the circle.

What is different about the last two numbers? It's the same numbers but just not in order.

What can you understand about Ancient Egyptian numbers compared to modern numbers?
Modern numbers use english numbers such as 2 12 23 and 4 but the ancient Egyptian numbers use symbols to do their numbers just like this. They have 3 symbols representing the place value columns. The straight line symbol is a 1 the upside down u is a 10 and the twirly symbol is the 100's.
LI: To understand place value by using Ancient Egyptian numbers.
This week Mr Wong's maths group has been learning about Ancient Egyptian numbers. We had to use whiteboards to write the numbers. I have learnt one thing for writing Ancient Egyptian numbers is to make sure you dont use equals, addition, subtraction, and any other symbols on our Chromebooks.
I learnt this by figuring out how we write our numbers compared to the ancient numbers.
I first figured out what each ancient number meant on my work. The upside down u represents the 10's, the straight lines represents the 1's, and lucky last the twirly symbol represents the 100's of the place values.
